Parlor Watch 305
- Parlor Watch 305 is a real-time monitor of a modern milking parlor
- Monitor the Herds Milk Production
- See pounds of milk per cow by pen for each milking
- See bulk tank totals and have the ability for overflow alarms
- See the start, stop and total time for each pen and work shift
Parlor Watch 305 is a real-time monitor of a modern milking parlor. It consists of a sanitary "in-line" meter connected to a "flow computer". The meter typically sits between the milk pump and the plate cooler, and measures flow when the milk pump runs.
A temperature probe is attached to the milk line after the plate cooler. Thus, times and milk production per pen along with current "cooled" temperature can be recorded. Also, wash-up volumes, times and temperature are monitored.
The current temperature and bulk tank volume can be monitored and alarmed if desired. Graphic displays are available for any combination of the herd and/or individual pens. Finally, failing check valves can be detected immediately. An example report is shown to the right.

BREDSUM\R for Early Monitoring of Conception Success: One of the most useful monitors of current reproduction is determining conception as early as possible. However, there is currently a lag of at least 21 days (cow receives another insemination) and in most cases a lag of at least 35 days (cow is diagnosed open or pregnant).
The BREDSUM\R option in DC305 allows tracking of conception by week of insemination. It has proven to be quite valuable in monitoring conception success and alerting management as early as possible to potential problems with conception, especially when created immediately after each check for reproductive status.
